Bright, breezy and brilliantly clever — this charming 1978 “Playtime Popover” granny square top is made from just 6 squares in 3 different sizes. The genius is in the construction: the same square design is simply worked with more rounds to create larger squares, so the whole top grows naturally from one simple motif. Quick, satisfying and endlessly colourful.

Pattern is written in US crochet terms.
